Experienced
Founded by Tully Smith, Elect1 was born out of an idea that elections could be done better.
Election results matter, so the process needs to be full proof but also as simple as possible.
Having been elected School Captain in Primary School, and getting involved with grass roots politics as a teenager, Tully knows elections. He is an experienced Returning Officer, Company Director and self confessed political junkie.
Tully built a career in Corporate Affairs, including working for top 10 ASX listed organisations. Seeing first hand the process behind workforce and shareholder voting.
Tully’s experience, and desire to find a better way of conducting elections, led him to establish Elect1 - a better way of doing elections.
A part of Smith Strategic
Elect1 was conceptualised in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, during the Covid-19 global pandemic.
Inspired by Smith Strategic’s long history in conducting, supporting and advising on elections and governance processes around Australia and internationally.
Seeking to deliver a better way to conduct elections, we designed Elect1.
Starting from a base of best practice traditional election managment, we envisioned a purpose built election platform that harnesses the very best of modern technology to drive up voter engagement and deliver fail safe elections.
With the significant shifts in work patterns and behaviour, brought about primarily by the pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns, we envisioned a better way, a system of voting designed for and built in the twenty first century, for a modern workforce.
With a goal to be simple and easy to use, Elect1 as been built from the ground up with the user experience front and center and with security built in at the foundations.
Today Elect1 is still wholly owned by Smith Strategic, an Australian private investment and strategy firm. Who’s portfolio spans across a range of sectors, including technology, corporate advisory and most recently fast moving consumer goods as well as food and fibre.
